Opportunity Village Nepal (OVN) is dedicated to advocating for the rights of women and children, striving for their economic and social justice. OVN’s programs focus on eradicating child labor, preventing human trafficking, promoting girl child education, and empowering women through innovative community-based strategies.
Under the “Promote the Rights of Vulnerable Nepali Girls Project (CP-Home)” and “Anti-Human Trafficking Project” in Kathmandu, OVN is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:
- Child Protection Officer (1 Female only) – ResidentialLocation: Pokhara, Hemja (CP-Home)Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in social work.
- At least two years of direct experience in providing services to survivors of trafficking (highly preferred) or those who have been sexually exploited, abused, or affected by gender-based violence, especially those under 18.
- Knowledge of child and youth participation methodologies and experience in coordinating youth activities.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS packages, as well as the internet.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali.
- Experience in providing written reports and documenting project activities.
- In-depth knowledge of child safeguarding.
- Ensure effective operation and management of the CP home.
- Take responsibility for the safety and well-being of all children under the care and protection of the CP Home.
- Ensure logistical arrangements are in order to avoid compromising any aspect of the project experience for children.
- Lead capacity building and vocational activities, as well as various creative activities for youth and children.
- Foster harmonious relations between beneficiaries, their families, stakeholders, and the community.
- Coordinate and collaborate with relevant government and non-governmental stakeholders.
- Maintain proper documentation of the children and prepare qualitative reports and case stories.
- Outreach Worker (1) – FemaleLocation: KathmanduQualifications:
- Preferably completion of standard 12th (+2) or at least 10th standard with a minimum of 6 months (preferably one year) of experience as beneficiaries or working with youth in the entertainment sector.
- Age group for Youth Motivator between 18-30 years.
- Minimum of 6 months of direct experience in participating in OVN’s awareness and advocacy programs.
- Proficiency in written and spoken Nepali with basic English literacy.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
- Basic knowledge of Peer Support Groups.
- Willingness to visit areas of entertainment to identify beneficiaries and provide support.
- Knowledge of life skills, leadership, and vocational training.
- Maintain monthly home visit reporting of beneficiaries.
- Conduct Peer Support Group meetings with specific objectives.
- Perform field visits to vocational training institutes to follow up on beneficiaries twice a week.
- Conduct field visits to dance bars, massage parlors, and cabin restaurants thrice a week.
- Contact beneficiaries for events and facilitate sessions such as in-house activities/community.
- Provide peer-to-peer counseling and non-formal education based on beneficiary needs.
- Monitor the front-office area and reception desk if required.
- House Mother (1) – Only Female (Residential)Location: Pokhara-HemjaQualifications:
- Preferably completion of 10th or intermediate level or able to read and write.
- Age 25-35.
- Knowledge of Child Protection.
- Cleanliness.
- Able to manage children.
- Take overall responsibility for the children residing in a particular cottage at the CP home.
- Provide timely food and other logistic support to the children as per their needs.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment within the cottage.
- Strict adherence to OVN’s child safeguarding policy.
