How to Apply for an E-Passport in Nepal (2025 Update)
Nepal has introduced E-Passports (electronic passports) to enhance security and efficiency in travel documentation. If you want to apply for a new E-Passport or renew your existing one, follow this step-by-step guide.
1. Apply Online
Visit the official Department of Passports Nepal website:

- Click on “Apply for Passport”
- Choose the reason for application (New, Renewal, Lost, Damaged)
- Fill out your personal details correctly
- Upload scanned copies of required documents (Citizenship card, old passport if renewing)

2. Book an Appointment
- Select your preferred date and time for the passport appointment
- Visit the passport office on the scheduled date
