About CREASION: Center for Research and Sustainable Development Nepal (CREASION) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to environmental protection in Nepal. With a focus on recycling, research, emergency response, grassroots interventions, and circular economy initiatives, CREASION has been a pioneer since its establishment in 2005.

About Project CAP: Project CAP (Collaborative Approach for Preventing Plastic Leakages in Rivers) aims to divert plastic waste from landfills and rivers by strengthening waste collection mechanisms and boosting recycling through technological innovations. Operating in 6 municipalities across four major river basins in Nepal, Project CAP aligns with the proven PARLEY AIR theme under the PLEASE Project (Plastic Free Rivers and Seas of South Asia), funded by the World Bank and implemented by the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme (SACEP) and the United Nations Office for Procurement Services (UNOPS).

Purpose of the Role: The Team Leader for Project CAP is a crucial leadership role responsible for orchestrating and managing a multidisciplinary team to achieve project objectives. This role involves overseeing project activities, ensuring compliance with standards, and collaborating with stakeholders for successful implementation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Strategy:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines and risk mitigation.
    • Align project objectives with stakeholders.
  2. Budget Planning:
    • Work closely with finance for an accurate project budget.
    • Manage project budgets efficiently.
  3. Compliance Documentation:
    • Develop a system for documenting and tracking adherence to policies.
    • Prepare regular compliance reports.
  4. Research, Monitoring, and Knowledge Management:
    • Conduct baseline research and monitor project progress.
    • Document challenges, lessons learned, and best practices.
  5. Coordinating and Networking:
    • Coordinate with provincial and municipal governments.
    • Maintain contact with local government divisions.
  6. Quality Assurance and Reporting:
    • Establish and enforce quality standards for project deliverables.
    • Submit regular project status reports.
  7. Risk Identification and Mitigation:
    • Conduct a comprehensive risk assessment.
    • Develop proactive risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Seven years of relevant professional work experience.
  • Master’s degree in relevant fields.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Strong project management and dispute resolution skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management concepts.
  • Experience in public/private sector procurement.

Duration: The contract duration is one year, with potential early start, requiring frequent travel.
