Bheri Environmental Excellence Group (BEE-Group) is an autonomous, independent, non-partisan, nonprofit making independent, non-governmental organization (NGO). It was established in 2000 AD, registered in the District Administration Office, Banke, and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, Nepal. It is serving in the Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal for the protection and promotion of human rights, environmental conservation, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, building access to quality education health and WASH services, sustainable livelihoods, and community development. Since it is working on the rights-based approach to issues such as social justice, peace, human rights, environment conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and community development. It works to attain peace, development, and justice through peoples’ meaningful participation and a bottom-up approach to establishing an equitable, healthy, and self-reliant society by building a trustworthy reputation.
BEE-Group is implementing Telethon- Child, Not Bride Project in partnership with Plan International Nepal in Geruwa Rural Municipality, Thakurbaba Municipality, Madhuban Municipality and Barabardiya Municipality of Bardiya District from January 2022 to December 2025. The project aims to strengthen the system for preventing child early and forced marriages. Job Summary
The field supervisor will be responsible for the implementation of project activities as planned in the field and also be responsible to play an effective role in the communicating and dissemination of project information to the concerned and implementation of project activities timely manner.
The Field Supervisor plays a vital role in specific project strategies and activities to achieve the objectives stated in the project document inconsistent with the strategic direction of BEE-Group, Banke thereby making a major contribution to the development and articulation of organization’s objectives.
Description
Key responsibilities of the position:
- Support to the Project Manager and Technical Coordinators in preparation of detailed implementation plan and implementation it in the field accordingly.
- Communication and dissemination of project interventions to the concerned stakeholders ensure their meaningful participation in the project interventions.
- Facilitation field-level activities including and support to the technical coordinator and team in the implementation of community, ward and municipal level meetings and workshops.
- Support to the MERL officer in a collection of data, project progress, challenges and opportunities and knowledge capture as the project progress and writing the success story.
- Support in disseminating the message of preventing child early and forced marriage on a massive scale through behavior change communication at the household level mobilizing the members of champion of change, youth club, and civil society network.
- Work closely with the local government, civil society organizations and ensure that coordination with them for smooth implementation of project interventions with a trustworthy relationship.
- Work directly with communities to raise awareness about the consequences of child marriage and to promote educational and empowerment opportunities for girls.
- Oversee the implementation of project activities on the ground, collecting data, and reporting on progress and challenges to the project coordinator.
- Train and support community volunteers or local partners in child protection and anti-child marriage interventions.
- Provide support and guidance to field staff and volunteers, ensuring that project activities align with the overall goals and objectives.Acting as a liaison between the community, the project team, and other stakeholders, including local government officials and non-governmental organizations.
- Manage resources effectively to ensure that project activities are carried out within budget and timelines.
- Address any issues that arise during the implementation of project activities and finding appropriate solutions.
- Keep detailed records of all project-related activities, decisions, and outcomes.
Competencies and personal specification:
- Ability to work closely with communities, understanding their dynamics and building trust to effectively communicate the risks and impacts of child marriage.
- Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate field teams and community workers, ensuring that project activities are carried out effectively.
- Deep understanding of the local culture and norms, with the ability to navigate sensitive topics related to child marriage in a respectful manner.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to report on field activities and to facilitate training and awareness sessions.
- Ability to identify challenges in the field and develop practical solutions to overcome them.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations on the ground and to respond to the needs of the community and the project.
- Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities in the field.
Qualification and Experience:
- A plus two degrees (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in education, social science, development studies or a related field.
- At least two years of experience working in community development, social work, SRHR or child protection. Experience specifically in child marriage prevention programs is highly advantageous.
- Fluency in the local language(s) and Nepali is often necessary to communicate effectively with both the community and project stakeholders.
