Sundar Nepal Sanstha (BNA) is Non-profit, Social Development Organization devoted to deliver the quality services to the community is implementing the “Increasing access to clean energy through Clean (Electric) Cooking Solutions in the communities of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces of Nepal” in partnership with SNV/EnDev. The project is seeking qualified, dynamic and motivated Nepali citizens for the following position in order to implement Induction Cooktop promotion programme.
Position: Market Development Coordinators – 2 positions (duty station to be assigned later, highly likely in Achham, Doti, Kanchanpur or Banke)
Required Competence:
- Understanding of Clean Cooking (High Tier Cooking) Market Sector of the Country/province.
- Basic Computer application: MS Office, report writing, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Understanding the role of Provincial and Local Governments in renewable energy and climate issues.
- Knowledge of Municipal Energy Plan, periodic planning process, understanding of Clean Cooking Technologies and their technical aspects of operation, pricing, and availability in the local market.
- This position needs intensive field visits to the partner Palikas of the programme provinces.
- Having the skills and holding driving license for two wheelers is desirable.
Academic Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree with extensive work experience in the social mobilization and clean cooking market activation projects. Or Intermediate degree with TSLC and more than 10 years of relevant experience.
Work Experience:
- 5 years plus experience of working in the Clean/Improved Cooking Sector, community level social mobilization experience and understanding of functioning of local government units (RMs) including the mandate for implementing small scale RETs.
- Extensive work experience at community level, understanding local level planning process and working modality.
- Working experience with market-based approaches and public private partnership model.
- Capacity to coordinate with local level stakeholders and line agencies, presentation skills.
- Good reporting and communication skills
- Good language skills (oral and written) in English and Nepali
