- 14. Financial sector reform programs have been implemented in different phases since 2048 BS in Nepal. This has given good results too. However, fundamental risk in the banking sector is persistent. Lately, there are reports that non-performing assets (NPA) are rising and the profitability of the banking sector is decreasing. In this context, examine the achievements of previous financial sector reform programs and present a framework of a financial sector reform program needed to improve the situation currently developed and to mitigate the potential risks arising in the financial sector in the future.
