The Association for Social Transformation and Humanitarian Assistance (ASTHA) Nepal, a nonprofit, non-governmental, and nonpolitical humanitarian development organization, is on a mission to create positive change. ASTHA Nepal is currently working in partnership with World Vision International Nepal on its Integrated Protection and Community Engagement Project in the Mellkeh Rural Municipality and Sanafebagar Municipality of Achham West Cluster, as well as the Panchadewal Binayak Municipality and Kamalbazar Municipality of Achham East Cluster. To drive forward this project, ASTHA Nepal Achham is actively seeking dedicated Nepali citizens to fill the following positions:
Position: Programme Coordinator (1)
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant sector, management, social science, or business studies, with a minimum of 5 years of experience managing multiple projects with diverse teams; OR
- Master’s degree in the relevant field (management, social science, or business studies preferred) with at least 3 years of experience managing multiple projects with diverse teams.
- Proven ability to manage risks and promote governance to contribute to strategic outcomes.
- Experience working with children and their well-being in both development and emergency contexts.
Major Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management (40%): Oversee portfolio programs, reports, risks, problem-solving, team management, and governance.
- Solid Programme Quality and Technical Management (20%): Ensure program quality, MEAL data/information, technical program excellence, project model implementation, and sector integration (including sponsorship and cross-cutting themes like GESI and DRR).
- Community Empowerment and Engagement (15%): Foster community engagement at various levels for sustainability.
- Evidence of Program Impact (15%): Collect and compile evidence of program impact/results to be shared with a wider platform.
- Strong Relationship and Partnership Management (10%): Manage internal and external relationships and partnerships effectively.
Position: Protection Field Mobilizers (2)
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies
- Intermediate in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience in child protection projects or strong social mobilization skills.
- Knowledge of empowerment approaches and the ability to mobilize.
- Basic knowledge of child protection systems and protecting children.
- Basic knowledge of the life skills approach.
- Basic understanding of community system strengthening to protect children in the community.
Major Responsibilities
- Facilitate and support the formation of local-level child rights committees in target areas, mainly at the municipal level.
- Facilitate the participation and selection of teachers, parents, life skills groups, and child clubs from vulnerable areas.
- Support providing local information for updating the database on local child rights committees and other groups.
- Support municipal/ward-level Child Rights Committees and child monitoring committees in organizing meetings.
- Organize local ward-level meetings and events in coordination with government and community groups.
- Mobilize peer educators to track the progress of adolescents in life skills groups.
- Report child protection incidents in the community to the formal system.
- Report child protection cases to the NGO Safeguarding Focal Point and raise awareness about safeguarding measures and compliance in the community.
- Support the implementation of CFLG activities under the CP & CESP program.
