Project Overview:

  • The project “Enhancing Labour Rights in the Informal Economy” (ELRIE) is supported by the US Department of State.
  • The project aims to improve the exercise of labor and social protection rights for informal economy workers in Nepal.
  • Three key outcomes are targeted: freedom of association, increased access to social protections, and enhanced capacity for labor law enforcement.
  • Focus sectors include agriculture, construction, and sanitation value chains in Madhesh Province.

Reporting Lines:

  • The Finance and Administrative Assistant will report to the Technical Expert on Inclusive Growth and the ELRIE National Project Officer.
  • Collaboration with the Operations Officer of CO-Kathmandu and other project and ILO staff is required.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance and Administrative Assistant will be responsible for various tasks, including maintaining project financial records, processing contracts, preparing correspondence, reviewing financial reports, and providing administrative and financial support for project activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of secondary school education with formal training in accounting and/or finance and administrative field.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of general administration and office support work experience. Experience with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is preferred.
  • Languages: Excellent knowledge of English and Nepali languages. Knowledge of an additional local language spoken in Madhesh province is an advantage.

Competencies: The candidate should possess knowledge of financial and administrative rules, good analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment. Proficiency in basic computer software and effective communication skills are also required.
