Hefar International, in partnership with the Economic and Legal Support and Rural Women’s Empowerment Center of Nepal, is implementing the “Innovations in Agri-Livestock Value Chains” project to carry out a Vegetable Value Chain Program. In this regard, we are inviting applications from Nepali citizens who are interested in the following position within 15 days from the date of publication of this notice.
Position: Business Development Officer
Number of Vacancies: 1
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Economics or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in community development and vegetable value chain.
- Experience in proposal writing, report preparation, budgeting, and plan development.
- Knowledge, skills, and experience in project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Knowledge and experience in smallholder farmer empowerment and entrepreneurship programs.
- Skills in staff management, administration, training, and facilitation.
- Experience in agriculture and livestock-based businesses and youth and women’s participation and social mobilization.
- Knowledge, skills, and experience in business plan development.
- Ability to collaborate and work in coordination with local governments and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and internet).
- Possession of a motorcycle license and the ability to work in the project area for at least 80% of the time.
Main Responsibilities:
- Timely and effective implementation of planned project activities.
- Identify opportunities, potential, and challenges of cooperative and processing centers, and facilitate business expansion.
- Facilitate data collection and analysis of farmers and production mapping, as well as market demand and supply assessments for linking processing centers and markets.
- Streamline and simplify the management, operation, and improvement of cooperative and processing centers.
- Conduct field-level meetings, training, and workshops for farmers’ capacity development.
- Provide technical services to project field farmers for capacity development.
- Collect and update information and periodically report to institutions and stakeholders.
- Prepare monthly and periodic reports for institutions and stakeholders.
- Establish and coordinate business relations with eligible parties for the expansion of cooperative and processing center businesses.
- Facilitate branding and marketization of products produced by cooperative and processing centers.
- Prepare business plans for cooperative and vegetable processing center expansion, as well as long-term and strategic planning for implementation.
- Coordinate and collaborate with government and other stakeholders for project implementation.
- Document project experiences, success stories, lessons learned, and documentation.
- Position: Accountant
Number of Vacancies: 1
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a minimum of 3 years of work experience.
- Proficiency in accounting principles.
- Knowledge of computer applications related to accounting and experience in accounting software.
- Knowledge and experience in financial report preparation, data analysis, budgeting, and procurement process.
- Knowledge and experience in local government financial systems, budgeting, and audit procedures.
- Ability to coordinate and work in collaboration with local government and other stakeholders.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle and possess a valid license.
- Regular and necessary field visits are required as per project needs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage financial accounting using accounting software related to project finances.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and submit them to the donor agency.
- Develop and control budgets and financial planning.
- Maintain records of project assets and keep them updated.
- Manage logistics for project activities.
- Office management and daily administrative tasks.
- Position: Agricultural Technician
Number of Vacancies: 3
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of JT in agriculture with a minimum of 3 years of experience or JTA with at least 5 years of experience in community development and vegetable value chain.
- Knowledge, skills, and experience in project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Knowledge and experience in smallholder farmer empowerment and entrepreneurship programs.
- Skills in staff management, administration, training, and facilitation.
- Experience in agriculture and livestock-based businesses and youth and women’s participation and social mobilization.
- Knowledge, skills, and experience in business plan development.
- Ability to coordinate and work in collaboration with local governments and other stakeholders.

- Organize group meetings, farmer business schools, training, and workshops at the field level and facilitate simplification.
- Provide technical services to farmers in the project area.
- Facilitate the establishment of cooperative and private sector business relationships for the improvement of farmers’ access to quality agricultural inputs, modern technology, and financial services.
- Collect and update information related to vegetable production and marketing in the project area.
- Prepare monthly and periodic reports for the organization and stakeholders.
- Coordinate and conduct meetings with relevant stakeholders for the expansion of cooperative businesses.
- Liaise and collaborate with government and non-governmental organizations for project implementation and coordination.
- Capacity building and documentation of success stories and training materials.
Position: Market Facilitator
Number of Vacancies: 1
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in cooperative capacity development, agriculture, and livestock market development.
- Specialized knowledge and experience in project implementation, monitoring, reporting, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in smallholder farmer empowerment and entrepreneurship programs.
- Skills in business plan translation for groups and cooperatives.
- Capacity measurement and review of groups and cooperatives.
- Preparation of monthly and periodic reports.
- Coordination with potential sources for cooperative business expansion.
- Collaboration with private, non-governmental, and government agencies for resource management.
- Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and internet).
- Possession of a motorcycle license and the ability to work in the project area for at least 80% of the time.
