Rural Development and Empowerment Center (RUDEC Nepal)is a non-government organization having its Office in Nuwakot District is formed with the objective of wise utilization of local resources with enhanced capacity of local people which ensure the livelihood improvement opportunities for poor, deprived and destitute community people especially women, children, differently able people living in Nuwakot and its surrounding districts. Since its establishment, RUDEC has been working in Food Security, Education, Rural Infrastructure Development, Climate Change, Energy, Environment, Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, Drinking Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Health, Child Rights Human Rights, Peace and Democracy from funding support from different donor agencies for improving socio-economic and health condition of most deprived and disadvantaged people living in Nuwakot and its surrounding districts. It has adopted human right based approach through social mobilization and technical backstopping for strengthening service delivery mechanisms and promoting local technologies to address the poverty issues and also conserve and develop natural resources in order to foster sustainable development. With the technical and financial support of GNI Nepal, RUDEC is implementing “Integrated Community Development Project” in Nuwakot District.
Scope of Job
PHA is responsible for implementing health and WASH-related activities of Integrated Community Development Project-Nuwakot, funded by GNI Nepal. The PHA will be based in the project location, Nuwakot District with frequent travels to the project working area. The PHA will work under the direct supervision of the focal person of the Rural Development and Empowerment Center (RUDEC Nepal)
Qualification: Diploma or Intermediate degree in Health Related Subject ( B.Ed in Health subjects/ BPH preference will be given)
Major duties and responsibilities
The incumbent will be mainly focused on the following major duties and responsibilities.
Planning and Implementation:
Design health and WASH-related plan of action (PoA) and execute accordingly in the target areas.
Develop content for educational activities and awareness campaigns.
Revitalize community groups like the Health Mother Group (HMG), Health Facility Operation Management Committee (HFOMC), and W/ S-WASH-CC.
· Follow required standards of project interventions for the support of health facilities, schools, and communities ensuring all the norms of inclusiveness to ensure health rights.
Training and Development:
· Conduct orientation, training, interaction and discussion to sensitize communities on Public Health Issues.
· Facilitate to mobilize FCHVs and HMGs.
· Facilitate workshops and training for enhancing the capacity of FCHVs, HMGs, W/S-WASH-CCs, HFOMCs, PMCs, child club members, parents and community.
MEAL
· Carry out a periodical assessment of the project to assess the gap in operational practices of project interventions.
· Collect and compile training need assessment for FCHVs, HMG, HFOMC, ORC Management committees, Health Workers and W/S-WASH-CC.
· Conduct field visits as required
· Submit periodic reports as per project requirements.
· Assist in feasibility study of infra activities.
Collaboration and Coordination
· Extend coordination with concerned local government, schools, health facilities, community networks other like-minded organizations, and civil society and seek collaboration.
· Participate in the programs/meetings and discussions held at the district, R/M, and community level and share the learnings/ experiences.
Reporting
· Report Project Coordinator as per prescribed forms and format on a regular (weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual) basis.
· Collect experiences, lessons learnt, best practices and success stories from the working communities.
· Keep a record of public health activities in prescribed formats.
General
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as instructed by supervisor.
